Mark said "finding out what it's like to have bred a world class horse is amazing.  The phone doesn't stop ringing, I'm fending off enquiries from abroad".  Mark is starting Bullit's competition career in 2012.  He covered his first mares 2011 and we are looking forward to the results

D'Bullit is from the favoured FERRO BLOODLINE of British Team Member Carl Hester.  Amongst his competition string you will find many Ferro horses amongst them are Uthopia (by Metal) & Valegro (by Negro) - Both Metal and Negro are sired by Ferro.  Uthopia & Valegro won team Gold at the European Dressage Championships 2011 with Uthopia going on to win Silver in the Special and the Kur.

OLYMPIC FERRO

The KWPN foundation stallion Ferro passed away on February 18, 2005. The licensed stallion, who is called the "Black Pearl" by the KWPN, suffered from a severe colic attack. Ferro was 18-years old.
Ferro rose to stardom under Coby van Baalen. He won the team silver medal at the 1998 World Equestrian Games, 1999 European Championships and 2000 Olympic Games. Coby and Ferro's career highlight was in 2000, when they placed second in the World Cup Finals in 's Hertogenbosch, scoring over 80% for their kur to music.

Only two weeks before his passing, Ferro was to be seen in a special farewell ceremony at the 2005 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch. There, he performed in a beautiful pas de deux to music with his licensed son Lorenzo and showed in a quadrille with four of his offspring. The 'Black Pearl' once again demonstrated his brilliant piaffe-passage which became his trademark.

Ancestry

Sire Ulft is an unusually versatile stallion that has not only displayed enormous jumping ability but has also given impressive dressage performances. He was the first stallion since the introduction of the performance test to be given a 9 for dressage.
Sire of Ulft, "keur" Le Mexico, is a typical jumper progenitor, with a high jumping index.   His sire Mexico is a full brother to the famous Furioso II, a much celebrated progenitor in France. Their sire is Furioso xx, who was approved in various other studbooks.
Ferro's dam is mainly of German discent, Brenda (ster pref prest) is by the Holsteiner "keur" Farn, who also has ranked highly in the jumping index. Farn has become best known through his son Nimmerdor, who claims a very high index in jumping and has also produced many stallions.
